Default Anyone have pics of Mac headers with 3 inch 3 bolt collectors installed on the car?

I'd sure like to see some pics to see how to go about doing this modification. Can it be done before installing them on the car? TIA.

Lane , looks great! Did you cut the Mac ball flange off or did you custom make the y-pipe to fit the Macs collector flange? Do you know what kind of gains you made with that header/y-pipe set-up? Thanks.

We made the Y-pipe fit the header flange. This set-up made excellent power - almost 30 rwhp to the wheels gained - and got me my first 11 sec time slip. But, without a cat-back bolted up, it sounded like crap most of the time. So, now I have this:

No you don't have to do any mods to the headers. I am trying to get the most HP out of my bolt-ons and some breathing room in case a cam pops into my future. The Macs are good headers for the $$$ , but just like the stock LS1 they leave room for "enhancing" HP. Right or wrong , this is what I will be doing within a month or so , depending on the Mac header back back back back order time frame. (sorry, that was a little Texas humor. Mac tack welds the inside of the primary pipes.(trashy job)so I am going to weld the exterior flanges and port match the interior primaries to the gasket giving them a little better flow. Mac also uses a ball flange collector that reduces the collector size from 3" to about 2.5" so I am going to cut the ball flange collector of and install an old style 3" 3 bolt flange on each header to eliminate the bottleneck. The Mac y-pipe collector @ the "Y" leaves a lot to be desired so most people replace that particular section of the Mac y-pipe with an aftermarket collector that is designed to flow well. I just happen to have a fellow racer(friend) that has a Mac Y-pipe that has been modded already , so that saved me a step. I feel very confident that I can pull a good 30 rwhp by exerting this extra effort. Please let me state that "I" did not brainstorm these modifications. I stole/borrowed the ideas from quality individuals like those above that have posted to help me through this. These are the same guys' ideas that got me to the 11.90s in my wifes daily driver through all stock motor and exhaust. I hope this helps you and those that may have had the same questions. Feel free to PM me if I can help you. I'd like to give a little more back. See ya!!!!

That looks pretty trick. I bet it's loud and crisp. It sounds like a muscle car now doesn't it?
Thanks again.
