Default Need advise ; trying to break 11's

O.K. I'm hitting 12.10's consistantly on 26x11.50x16 ET Streets. If I could get my nitto drags to hook, that would help because of the smaller diameter of the tire(lower gearing). I plan on taking off the front sway bar for better weight transfer. My other thought is a cut-out. Should I put one behind each header or just one in the I-pipe? Any other ideas, just to shave a tenth or so?

This is what I have now.

3.73's

Thanx

how about restalling the converter up a bit with your one free stall upgrade? just to a vig3200 or vig3600

get a cutout and bypass that flowmaster muffler. should net you some more HP. put it in the I-pipe right before the axle.

other than that, start with some weight reduction. get some skinnies and rip more crap out of the car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Chris

ps-front sway bar removal is a good thing

On a decent track you should be able to work out the 2800 on drag radials. I would think you could pull a 1.65 or slightly better (this I've seen on a few cars which were a little heavier than yours)

Totally put a cut out on there. I've had a flowmaster american thunder catback, and believe me there is more power to be had.

Have you done all the free mods? (free ram air?)
Also, Have you tried a ported stock mass air?
How about a short belt?

And then there is always more convertor!

ASAP Pulley and skinnies--these two mods alone may put you in the eleven's.

1.65 60' with drag radials and a 2800 stall? I'd like to see that.

Thanks for all the good advise. I really like the 2800 so I don't plan on changing the stall. I have all the free mods. I still need cutout, shortbelt,!swaybar. Anything else?
Monster1191: If I wasn't dumb on a computer I would post a pic of one of my time slips.
My 60ft before hooker long tubes was 1.65 on DRAG RADIALS. Since the headers I have only got a 1.73 spinning.

alright, so definitely get the cutout, shortbelt is easy to do for the track, the pulley if you can find one is an AWESOME mod. then how about diong a tune up? like change the fuel filter, spark plugs(NGK TR55), etc... just to make sure fuel is getting to the motor and then it's being ignited. how about taking the screen out of the MAF sensor? did you already do that? how about autotapping your car and then seeing how your running air/fuel ratio. then maybe a MAF-Translator. some people it works well, others it hasn't. with my '98 it seems to have picked up a TON of power. but i have no dyno sheets to prove it.

I just had a new 3" y pipe made today. My previous one was a shabby 2.75" homemade job. It worked but rattled pretty bad. This new one should flow alot better.I'm also worried that I'm getting some Knock retard, because my idler pulley is sqeeking really bad. I dont have a laptop or A-tap. I've already ported the MAF and just got new plugs & wires. I should be getting close.
