Just installed hooker LT; car runs rough
What could be causing this? The car has o2 simms also. I have heard of the car running a little rich (or is it lean?) when headers are put on, but never to the point where it almost stalls. The car stutters a bit, and feels slightly underpowered.
With the o2 simms in, why is the ses light still on? Could the crimmped egr tubes be the culprit? Should we rip that crap off of the car?
Any help appreciated. Headers look and sound great, but the car idles like it has a 110 lsa cam in it. What gives?

ALso recheck the plugs and wires to make sure they are on OK. one guy had a problem with his, everyone thought it was air getting to the O2 sensor, turned out it was just a loose plug wire.
EGR could be throwing a code, but shouldnt affect the idle like that...
where are you guys at exactly?
One other thing to check...make sure your plug wires arent to close or touching the headers....heat soaking the plug wires can cause surges as well. Just a thought. Peace.

never heard of that before. can you explain more as to why that happens? i've heard of the fuel lines and vapor lock and stuff like that. but nothing like what oyu have described. thanks for any more help.

Freak, we are in Sterling Heights. I belive it was you i talked to at Milan. I had the red 02 formula. My buddy that was with me, its his car that we put them on.
At idle in drive, the car shakes alot. It drops down to 500-600 rpm and the y pipe starts to bang agains the floorboard. It has gotten better over the last 30 miles of driving, but still not normal.
Our club Motown Muscle is having a dyno this satruday at Automotive Performance Engineering (APE). I will be dynoing mine, and my freind want to bring his. He says the car is fine now at anything above idle and that it pulles hard on the top end (duh!). So we will have the guys at APE have a look when they throw it on the rollers.
how many miles are on the car (since the header install)? maybe its runnign really rich or really lean at idle... have you auto tapped it?
