Default not your normal Ported TB question..

Hey guys, My ported TB comes today or Monday. My question is more of a poll... What, if any MPG gains did you guys see after your TB install? It doesnt really matter to me, just kinda curious. It might be none, it might be 10 miles per tank, it might be more?? I do half freeway/ half street driving, about 275-300 miles/week. And i average 20mpg right now.

Any thoughts or experiences would be nice, thank you in advance.

Just checking. I wasnt expecting any really. Just an off-chance, being an intake mod and whatnot.

Thanks guys.

I have one of Bo's, and although I love it, it didn't do anything for mpg.

He's lying, or getting false data.

There's no way this mod can, or will, help or hurt your fuel economy. Fuel economy is dependent on very few conditions, contrary to popular belief. More air into an engine will in no way, shape, or form increase or decrease fuel economy, assuming the tune isn't changed (Which it won't be with a P/P TB).

MPG are determined by efficiency, that's it. The aerodynamic efficiency, the weight, the tune, intake air*, engine's efficiency in respect to burning the fuel, and the friction losses of a vehicle.

*Intake air does play a role. However if it gets into the manifold at the same temperature, with no change in turbulence, then it does not. And I will all but guarantee a slight throttle body change has a minimal effect on an already turbulent stream.

heck a few weeks ago i was getting about 200 miles a tank and now that temp. has changed a little I've already been getting about 230 to a tank easy. If something as easy as the temp or "keeping your foot out of it" can change gas mileage how can you nail it down to the TB

I can't believe you guys are only getting 200-260 miles to a tank. I'm getting a minimum of 300 and usually it's more like 320-330
