Unhappy MPG Burning too much Gas

Hi Guys
I have a 98 WS6 with a LS6 Engine, cam and Long tube headers and it's tuned by Haddad Motorsports. My question is my car is burning gas like a **** and somebody told me it's because my exhaust dosn't have cats it's just 3in piping and a Hooker Aerochamber. Is this true if so how many MPG can I gain?,also whats the best spark plugs for this set up.Thanks

your cats dont have anything to do with it, no cats should mean better gas mileage.

If Haddad tuned your car, he shouldve made provisions for no cats. Your problem is somewhere else, or should be at least.

What's the stall on the converter? Obviously high stalls will cause poor gas mileage.

^^^+1 on the A4 with stall, you aren't going to see very good mileage at all with a A4 and stall. From reading this board I believe people are in the ~17MPG range.

Do you still have the stock gears? If not, that will also effect your mpg. Also, i'm by no means an expert on tuning, but you might want to give the guys you got your car tuned at a call, and ask them if there is a more conservative tune they can give you that would be more gas friendly..

You say you have a cam, what specs? What is the stall on your converter?

With a 3000 stall and stock internals, I average about 15mpg in town.
