Ugh....

.....Putting on headers. We took off the AIR and EGR and even the y-pipe. But.....BAM we went to take out the spark plugs and it pulled out the cover with exposed wires. So yeah its broken, how the hell do we get these spark plugs we tried pulling and now I've lost a stock cover

Is there a special procedure or something? We did everything so perfect and this easy little stupid thing we screw up. PLEASE HELP

i guess your talking about stripping a spark plug wire...not sure....but i did this also its typical if you havent put dia-letic grease on before you put them on....

needle nose pliers work well and just get another set of wires....i had some msds standing by

Been there done that with the stock plug wires. Make sure you twist back and forth a few times at the boot before pulling. I see there are several threads in the For Sale forum selling used stock plug wires. Here's one thread:

Oh thank you for your responses, but luckily my local Advanced Auto had a set of 8 of our exact stock wires (which shocked the hell out of me). Thanks Again.

Remember to use the grease on the plug / boots, twist before pulling and look into one of them simple tools that just looks like a flat metal/rubber coated hook to reach in to the end of the boot to pull from the end of the boot.

Yeah you are lucky. I stuck a rag over the EGR hole when we removed it so we wouldnt drop dirt inside. YOU GUESSED IT, we forgot to plug the hole and forgot to remove the rag and started the car up. The rag dissapeared and we bent valves. The GOOD news was that afterwards I "had" to buy new heads. I think the wife may be starting to catch on..............................
