Default intake manifold install problem help

I just installed my weiland intake manifold on my 1999 z28 today. However, when i try to start the car i hear a loud whining sound. The tach revs up to 2500 rpms then dies. Any ideas what went wrong?? Please help.. thank you

Could the whine be a air/vacuum leak??. Does the whine get louder as the rpms increase?? That would be my first guess. Check to make sure all ports have hoses attached or are blocked off.

It does get louder as the rpms climb. How will i know if its an air/vac leak though? Everything has a hose attached.. Was i supposed to modify the valley pan any more than i did with the coolant lines? Also, would an air/vac leak cause the engine not to start and die?

Those were the knock sensors. Just leave them alone.

Everytime I installed an intake and upon start up the RPM's rose above idle it was a vac. leak.

Make sure both vac. lines on the rear of the intake are secure, one from the pass. side to the rear of the intake, and the other from the brake booster. If those are, check the lines on the front of the intake, and if those are fine, make sure the intake is bolted according to specs, and in sequence.

You buy allen sockets and place them on a torque wrench like any other socket.
