did you guys mess with the intake at all? Could ahve missed with the oil pressure sending unit???

Also when he was putting the motor back in, i think he mentioned something about getting an oil pump or putting on in? If so, could have pinched the o-ring or pick up tube... May need to pull the pan to make sure that it is ok

Good Luck

You guys? Im in Houston. Long *** ways from him, the TA just isnt at the same place his computer is, so I thought Id post up. Maybe someone would say something Im forgetting. Through cranking it over for a while, he said there was still no oil to be seen on the head, what he could see through the fill tube hole anyway.

Im thinking the o ring too.

I know, Jason kept me updated. sending unit is fine. Theres 6 quarts in there, filter had oil in it so there technically was about 5.5 quarts to start with.

Jason said something about GM having a service bulliten about an o-ring. I've got an SLP oil pump, not sure if that would matter or not, but im really holding out thats its just the o-ring.

nope, motor came as a shortblock. I used the SLP oil pump it came with and bought another oil pan and pick-up tube since mine didnt come with one and my old ones were trashed. pick up tube bolted up fine, oil pan when on fine as well. all thats bolted up good and I can guarentee that. the o-ring and pump has me wondering.

i ahve a feeling it is 1 of 3

O-ring
Pick Up Tube
Oil Pump

one of those 3 is not letting you get pressure.. And you did not have the intake off so that little piece in the back should not be broken..

the intake was off, but the sending unit is fine. i reached back there and felt it, no cracks or splits and its plugged up. i always take great care around that critter.

now the o-ring and oil pump i understand. but what could be wrong with the pick up tube itself?
