Sounds like your valve timing is off, find out how the marks on the crank and cam need to be lined up at #1 TDC.Somtimes the marks need to line up differant then 6 oclock on the cam and 12oclock on the crank,as if you are off 180* on the crank or cam.The intake valves could be opening on the compression or exhaust stroke of the engine.Retime before pulling the heads could save some time and money IMO.....

I only got the rockers off it so far ive been to busy with other ****. im ready to just burn the damn thing to the ground. every time i look at it, it makes me sick
Not quite sure why you posted that, this thread is actually informative to anyone that might be building their first motor and running into problems. For people who read this it might not happen to them when they go down the road. The only reason a thread like this would get locked is because of people like you posting that nonsense. Tim

Im gonna start it this weekend, and im gonig to go slow and do it at my own pace and go step by step on ls1howto.com's guide. Im sorry it busted, but when turning it over by hand before installing it, it just turned so smooth and didnt have any reasons to beleive it was messed up.

From a guy who never had anyone to help or teach the inner workings of a motor...I've made a few costly mistakes myself but you have to look at it this way: Now you know what the problem was and your not still trying to guess. When your dealing with $ its best to apply the old carpenters saying: "Better to measure twice and cut once"
