well this set up came out of a running car. I bought the motor as a complete motor and thats what was used, so Im gonna say either the heads are in fact milled or a shorter PS was used to get the angle perfect

It has to have an LS6 cam (or something with a smaller base circle) or milled heads to required shorter PR's. That would make sense as to why you're getting no compression. Are you absolutely certain this things was running and pulled from a car without any modifications thereafter? Or could this have been a running motor but he pulled it, put some heads and cam on and decided to go a different route without ever starting it back up again to make sure it all worked? Just wondering...

i doubt Speed Inc would have done something fishy with it and sent it out.

Oh, well yea. I just have no idea where the engine came from. If it was specified earlier in the thread, my mistake.

I do beleive that the 228R has a slightly smaller base circle, or the heads have been milled. I cant say for sure yet. The intake springs are all lower than the exhaust springs, so I dont know how to explain that other than bent valves

Smaller base circle would need longer pushrods.

ok everyone, heres the update:

Heads are OFF. The intake valves are bent. The intakers are all fine, however, theres some indentation on the pistons, not to horrible, no cracks, but you can feel the spot where they hit. I think they will be ok, but heads are gonig to the machine shop monday.

Sorry no pics, my phone finally died.

If only the exhaust valves are bent, how was it pushing air out through the intake? Also, you're gonna have hot spots on those pistons where they are dented. I hope it doesn't affect it too much.
