I was under my car and I noticed the part of the I tube that goes over the rear axle is flattened - I assume for clearance. I went out to Thunder to look at some other exhaust systems and none have their I pipe smashed. This would see like a huge restriction and negate the purpose of having a 3" I pipe every where else. Any feelings on this - am i off base?

its flattened, but inside area is the same(think squeezing a circle to an oval, same area, just different shape)... since its a "factory" exhaust, they probably do that to make sure it doesn't bang the axle... for being quiet, its one of the best flowing exhausts...

i would also like to hear some dyno results. i have never dynoed mine open vs. closed. anyone? i have heard (but not seen) that there is only a few rwhp difference b/w the cutout and the full dual/dual even on bigger cam higher rpm combos like mine.

Made a few dyno pulls with the stock dual dual on my car, drove it 20', putr it on the rack and put a magnaflow on it. Backed it back on the dyno an hour later and it was exactly the same (with the cam ~365rwhp). I liked the dual/dual but it was just a bit too quiet. Tha magnaflow has a really nice sound but my neigbors preferred the dual/dual I'm sure

Does the SLP PP "aftermarket" dual/dual outflow the SLP OEM dual/dual?

i have the dual dual on my 02 Firehawk with slp long tubes and cats. it is quit when cruising but when u lay on the gas and get over 3,500 rpm man does that dual dual come to life. best of both worlds in a sense..
