Question At over 5000 feet (colorado)

Would the Fast 90 intake and 90 TB benefit me alot with just stock 346 with headers. It would seem there would be alot of benefit with the air being so much thinner up here. You opinions please. Thanks in advance and merry xmas to all!!

heck yeah it would benefit you with the DA up there. You should finish all bolt ons and maybe put a cam in before you do that tho. FAST 90/90 setups are spensive!

Default So??

I have heard from some poeple ,that if i have a turbo or a supercharger there is no benefit to having a fast 90/90 because the air is already "compressed". Is this true? I now have the ls6 intake. Thanks all

You should still benefit form a better intake setup regardless of intduction style, it just might not "feel" like as much of an increase in power if you already have forced induction. The less resistance there is in an intake track, the more air the engine can pull in and the more fuel that can be burned hence more power. Boost is actually just resistance to vacuum up until 30+ pounds of boost, then the manifold actually starts to get pressurized, so i've heard and correct me if i'm wrong... Hey WS6_00 i see you're location says NM, are you in Albuquerque?

Hey T/A:

Really the trick to gaining HP at this altitude is not that much different than sea-level. Its all about cylinder pressure. You have about 15-18% less at altitudes above 5000 feet.

While the Fast 90/90TB are good products, flowing more air in doesn't necessary equate to more cylinder pressure.

The Turbo guys are right. However, if you want to stay NA you can simply boost your CR by choosing a good after market head and the right combination of parts.

The other obvious trick is gears. While that doesn't gain you cylinder pressure or HP, you can make up for some of the lack of acceleration that occurs at higher altitudes.

Hope this helps. Good luck..WeathermanShawn..
