I choose it over a lid just because i've had horrible luck with my lid/filter sealing enough so that crap doesn't get sucked into the engine... with the volant you don't have to worry about that...
plus it looks and sounds badass

Verdad Gallardo the volant gets just as dirty as when I had a lid and fra. it mostly gets dirty it the area where air gets through the ws6 hood.
cleaning the volant is the same as cleaning my old k/n for the lid. I still use my k/n cleaner to clean the volant and it works.
