Clean MAF, how-to?
I think my maf might have gotten filer oil on it from the K&N. I got a lil overzealous with the spray can lol.
How can i clean it, or what should/could i use rather? I found a spray can of Quick Dry electric components cleaner but am not sure if this will harm it.
I'm pretty sure it will be ok, just don't wanna end up having to buy another MAF.

yeah K/N is bad for that it can screw things up giving you crapy gas mpg also. I have one haha but some fabric filters are oil less and that probly what I will pick up sooner or later but a paper filter is just fine I take it out when I hit the track anyway.

I did not know that K&N oil would affect MPG. Actually I forgot and thought it would throw a code. I'm buying some tomorrow. Thanks. I've done everything else and that wouldn't hurt to do to improve mileage. I even replaced my IAC valve last month. $103

I SeaFoamed my car over the weekend and it is getting alot better gas mileage. I just wanted to try and see if the MAF was the source of my slightly rough idle.

I never said anything about HP haha the can of MAF clener is about the same as Brake cleen so why not.
CRC MAF cleener
1. saftly cleens and protects MAG's
2. Plastic safe and leaves no residue
on the back of the can it says from CRC that also makes Brake cleen.
Dont use agressive chemicals like brake cleen , carb cleen or air intake cleener on MAF's. This can cause serious damage to sensitive parts.
Now if brake cleen was ok to use I'm shure that CRC would not have even made MAF cleener.
But you keep using your brake cleen bud haha.

CRC Brakekleen
If you didnt read the back lable.
1. DO NOT use on polycarbonate plasticssuch as LEXAN. MAY ALSO BE HARMFUL TO OTHER PLASTICS.
2 protect all rubber brake parts , plastic and painted sufaces.
I think that about sums it up and the the bold is just how its written on the back of the can I didnt do it to prove a point. I just thought for those of you who didnt know this could help not trying to diss on ya hommie.

Just read the back of the can of CRC MAF cleener, the same company that makes Brakekleen says not to use brakekleen on your maf end of story.
and yeah I have a K/N filter, royal purple oils, and a sticker on the side that says that I do! thats good for about 50 more Hp so I'm pushing like 400 at the wheels right now easy.
