Ls6 intake install
well better make damn sure the map sen has a good seal and not gonna be a vacume leak, you tune will be off for sure and you idle, well just make sure you dont have a leak, they all have 1bar map sensors, you can download custom OS for a speed density tune(1bar,2bar,3bar) differant opptions for differant year computers. thats a tuning option, but the factory sensor is a 1bar on all of them. only boosted cars have a 2bar map.
yes you need the metal clip, not sure if a parts store would have it or not. just yank one off a ramdom car at a junk yard.

this might be a dumb question but I haven't seen any info about it so thought to ask. u guys r using high tempt rtv sealant/gasket maker for a good seal right, or no? would this benefit or is it not needed at all? I'm doing the swap next week
RTV on what? Your intake? Hell no. Not needed and I think it would be a BAD idea. The rubber orings are all that is needed just make sure you torque the intake as per the instructions on the install pages listed earlier in this thread. Might be hard for some of us ole schoolers to put the RTV away but trust me on this one.

guys i did my intake swap about 2 weeks ago. its not that hard. i used the gaskets (rubber o rings) off my buddies ls6 intake, sealed up just fine, just make sure theres not tears in the old ones and they will seal fine. and yes change your knock sensors i did mine cause one went bad right before i did the swap and it sucks. other than that i would just get the coolent tubes for the ls6 manifold instead of grinding off tabs its just alot easier. if you all have any questions about it just ask happy to help

there are three parts( connections) in question, I know the larger hose is the vacuum line.
there is a sensor type thing, what is this? ( seen in this picture, sorry it's blurry)

what is the smaller hose? can I block it?? it has a T and then splits into two, one hose going towards the passenger and one towards the drivers side of the compartment. the drivers side wasn't even connected to anything. ( I'm pointing to the part that connects and goes to the passenger, I'm holding the drivers side which wasn't connected to anything)

and last but not least, is that thing thats sticking up in the back there ( don't u love my technical talk) the oil pressure sending unit?? if so, I don't know how people break it

The first one is the MAP sensor
The second one, you can take the T off (for AIR pump aka smog equip)and connect the vac line that you took out at the beginning back to that small inlet hole.
Third one, is the infamous Oil Pressure Sending Unit. I broke mine not by taking the LS1 intake out but by putting the LS6 intake in.

k, so for the small hose, take the T off and connect it so I just have the hose that runs toward the passenger side?
U broke it putting it in?! Don't tell me that lol, I'll be extra carefull when the ls6 goes in then. thanks for the quick reply

When I did my swap I didn't mess with the intake thought and just cut and welded the crossover together in the front and did away with it going to the back of the motor.. Been running great ever since.. The only issue that you'll read about when doing this is that some of the blower guys supposedly pop engines when they do this... I'm planning on buying a new 90mm intake here in a bit and will probably go ahead and buy a new crossover though..

How do I get those gold threaded things out of the intake? the ls6 I got didn't have any. I need them to put on the throttle wire bracket. Or can I get them from Autozone or something?????
