Default ARH LTs have arrived!!

:bow:These things are amazing! Great quality, great service. Bought these from Byunspeed and Young was great to work with and was more than willing to answer all of my questions. One of the smoothest business transactions I've had. These things were pricey, but I believe in doing things right the first time and these should outlast the car. More pics in my photobucket....I'll supply the link at the end.

LS6 intake is on the way as well. I got the emissions headers in case they crack down around here and I have to hook it up at some point, but as of now all that junk is laying in the garage floor. Should finish the install in the next few days.
Link to rest of pics.. http://s56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...20Z28/Headers/

Any tips for a first time header install? lol

Looks good. Might as well put in some motor mounts while you're at it.

I run AR's on my C5. I ran over a large rock and crushed 2 primary tubes on my driver's side header. Nick at AR hooked me up with just that one side.

You were asking for a couple hints / suggestions....

Just like what was stated, do yourself a favor and swap out the motor mounts while the exhaust is out of the way. It adds about 15-20 minutes per side, but is well worth it because I think the factory mounts were meant to handle v6 torque, much less a modified ls1's torque output. The mounts will keep the ypipe from banging the floorboards as well.

Second suggestion is to get the car as high off the ground as you safely can. Most long tube headers need to go in vertically, which means that the front end of the car needs to be a minimum of 30" in the air. Anyless and you will be struggling and coming back on here saying that the headres are so hard to install.

Another point is reuse your stock header gaskets. They are a multi layer steel and better than what they sent you.

Finally, don't try and hold up the header and bolt them in. Get a friend to help hold them in place while you hand tighten all of the bolts first before you start to tighten them, if you can't run them in by hand, don't force them or you will strip the head or wrose, snap a bolt. If there is no one available, find anyone that is near by and pay them $20 to stand there and hold them. Just do a search on 'broken header bolts' to see how many people, myself included, have stripped or snapped a header bolt because they tried to install the headers by themselves.

Well, if I had looked at the rest of your pictures I would have seen that you have access to a lift. Everything else still applies.

Thanks for the tips Alchemist. Yeah, we got a great deal on that lift about 6 months ago and it has been a life saver ever since. I've got a couple people that should be able to help me with the install, so that shouldn't be a problem. As far as the gaskets.....I considered reusing stock gaskets, but my buddy told me the FelPros are great...so I picked some up. The seem like a good gasket and much better than what came with the ARH's. Any reason not to use them in place of the stockers?
