Default c5 port polish TB Question

I have my throttle body off my corvette and in the process of porting and polishing it. I cut the front side of the bar off that holds the butterfly peice. When i started piecing it back together, I noticed when the butterfly is assembled and i crank it open it goes past full open and looks like it would be more effective just wide open. I created a stop out of weld on the inside and sanded this down till it was perfectly aligned with WIDE open. Has anyone else done anything like this? Is this that bump stop that ppl talk about? will it effect anything on drive by wire vehicles?

Also, I used a 6/32nds tap and tapped out my blade screwins and used rounded stainless steel with alen heads. They do not protrude thru the back side but sit perfectly flush. Just an idea for others i thought was AWESOME!!

Also, Do very many people Knife the blade? Is this an important part of the port and polish process? Hoping Bo White or one of the experts will chime in and give me some advice.

And Yes i did several searches Before posting this.

Thanks,
Jeff

on the vette it is fly by wire so i am not familiar with it's wot . though i do know that what you did by cutting the front part of where the blade goes through is good for some flow . using the screws you did add a bit more flow so i would say you are doing good .
the knife edge is kind of at your own risk . if you mess up the blade your car will idle up high that and you need to wear some gloves when putting it back on so you dont cut yourself .
sounds like you got they eye for flow my friend . good luck with your build !

We don't knif edge the blades on our billet units since it messes with the off-idle transiton & dyno test's show no gains.

Agreed, knife edging is not worth doing.
