Default Car running too rich and not holding idle

I just installed Jet hot longtubes and a Hooker offroad pipe. The car is not holding a good idle and I am pretty sure it is running rich. What options do I have to fix this? Also I removed all of the EGR and AIR, please somebody help. Thanks. See you all at Super Chevy!

Sounds like you need LS1 Edit. You just can't remove your EGR and AIR, you have to delete them in the computer.

Sorry bud, no way around it...

Ported MAF might lean you out, a MAF Translator definitely would lean you out.

What about a SLP MAF? Will that help? Let me know, I am considering buying one of those. By the way, who sells a blockoff plug for the intake after you remove the EGR?

I'm not sure an SLP MAF will help you. Are you getting surging and a rolling idle?

I am in the same boat. I just installed my headers (no egr or air) and ORY and now the car is having problems holding the idle. It is also surging from a roll up to about 3000 rpm intermittently. I will not have LS1 edit for a few more weeks. Will descreening my MAF help? I have been hesitant about doing this because I have heard that some people run into drivability problems and since I will not have LS1 edit for a few more weeks I did not want to complicate issues. So what would be recommended until I get LS1 edit?

Thanks for the help,

Bart

On my 98 ss i have off road jet hots and off road y and i have no editing and it runs perfect, so trust me edit is definatly not needed although it would help. But maybe 99+ are different. But i wouldnt know cuz i have a 98. Just my $.02

And as for the hole on the intake, go to the autoparts store and buy a i think its 5/8" freez plug, the one that has a nut on the top. You put it in the hole and screw the nut on.

also, in ls1 edit i,m sure after you take your cats off you need to turn the COT off. that is what is making your car run pig rich. Catalictic converter overtemp will dump in extra fuel make the car run rich and eat gas because its trying to compensate for cats that arent there! correct if im wrong on this guys!
