Default HELP!!! Car goes straight to REDLINE on Start-Up!!!

Just like the description states, car goes STRAIGHT to redline (as if the throttle body's stuck open) on startup and pings the limiter. Was working perfectly fine this morning. Help plz!

I'm gonna hurt someone. The cap off the intake (not sure what it's called, blocks the EGR hole on top of the LS1 intake) MAGICALLY came off. WTF?!?! It was there this morning and hasn't been driven since. Why is it gone lol?

Is there anywhere I can pick one up locally tonight? If anyone has a spare one I'll give you up to $15 for your time. I can't leave my car at my fiancee's over night since it's a private community that will tow non-resident cars. Closest public parking is 4 blocks away. Thanks!

if there is a 24 hr hardware or auto parts store around you, you could check and see if they have a 1 3/8" expandable freeze plug to put in the hole and plug it.

btw do you still have the egr or the !egr ??

I just bought a 1 1/4" - 1 3/8" expansion plug from Auto Zone. Hope this works.

I'm starting to worry where the last cap went? Lol - any chance it could've contracted and gotten sucked into the intake? I mean, there isn't really anywhere else it could've gone... worries me.

i think it needs to be the 1 3/8"+ to go in the hole. i know thats what mine was. and if it came out it prob went out onto the road somewhere. highly doubt if it went into the engine

Yeah that is what you need. If you used the same type of plug before, there is no chance it got sucked in..

Expansion plug worked. I'm home now. Couldn't see the old block-off anywhere in the intake so I guess I'm in the clear. Took it up to 2.5k in 2nd and punched it to 5500... not a problem at all. Everything seems to be fine. I'm gonna try to expand the expansion plug a bit more with the help of a friend tomorrow to get the best seal I can. Should work as well as anything else, right? Thanks for the help guys. It's appreciated.

I have no clue what was in there before (was the first thing that got done to the car and not by me. I think I would've noticed the car pinging the limiter w/out my foot on the gas if it did come out on the road. I guess it just magically dissapeared. I won't be surprised if I find it chillin in the k-member one day when I pull the engine out.

if it came off while driving your motor would have redlined again. are you sure someone didnt take it off your car?

Solution: Find a new girl that has a garage..
