Question Powersticks... or... Powerpacks?

a few of you have seen the short camera phone video already.. but in case you haven't it's below...

right now i've got H/C, LT's, ORY, SLP LM1 and from the video i've seen and heard from people the car is crazy LOUD! The car is in SoCal and I'm in Phoenix (leaving in about an hour)...I personally like loud... but i'm just worried about "pull me over" loud...

I really like the sound of the Classic Chamber Mufflers... however i'm debating on whether to get the sticks or packs.... the packs are said to be a little quieter than the sticks...

I've got Tim@EAD checking into some of them for me to see what's in stock and the turnaround sent to me... but i'm still not really quite sure which one's i want... i'm leaning towards the powerpacks... but I don't won't it too quiet... i like to turn heads with my beasty exhaust... and I wouldn't even touch it if it wasn't for being worried of getting pulled over...

I just put a pair of powersticks on my truck. Loud deep tone.

If I were u, Id run a 3" powerstick in the ipipe with a pair of 2.5" at the end of the exhaust.

I run a 3" powerstick in the i-pipe with headers and its definitely nice. I would second dug's suggestion and if you wanted it a bit quieter, do it with powerpacks. Powersticks will definitely be loud without any cats though.

I really like the tone of the sticks. Im afraid the glasspacking would take away some of the tone

I would do the sticks over the packs myself if given a choice.

Great thread guys! I am changing the exhaust on my C5Z06 and am wanting to use 3" medium length powersticks in the center tunnel area. Looks like I'm gonna order a set today after hearing that vid...they sound great. Now if I can just get someone to sell me some 3" over-axle pipes to finish the system, I'd be a happy camper!

I've been in contact with both LG and Stainless works as they both have 3" catbacks for the C5. SW will sell me the pipes but they want $480 just for the pipes,,,that's nuts! There are a coulple of local guys with mandrel benders, but they can't do 3" tube. I guess I'm going to have to keep looking around.

Not with the big motor coming soon. Engine builder wants me to keep it 3" all the way to the back bumper. I've already changed to ARH 1-7/8" race headers and 3" x-pipe and center section,,,just need to get the rear section built.

you should do what i did...get someone in a local club that can weld and do metal work and have them custom make an exhaust for you...for my duals i bought 3" tubing from summit and that cost me 200 and he charged me 200 for labor and i had my entire setup made for 500 which is cheaper than a ory and catback btw was the video you referring to my video?

Already have access to 3" tubing, just need to find somebody with a mandrel bender that can do 3". BTW, just ordered medium 3" powersticks.
Yup, that was your video I was referring to,,,I love the way your car sounds!

I just pulled over for gunning the motor on the way 2 the liqour store. he let me off with a warning. Cop said it wasnt too loud, didnt like me gunning it in front of him.

didnt see him and it was one of those unintentional auto downshift to first.

run as much stick possible and they wont bother u unless u get on it in front of them.

cops appreciate a good tone just dont push it

I'm getting my duals switched over to dumped dynomax bullets from powersticks. I just don't like the tone all that much. It's a little too high pitch and raspy for me. And yes, they are LOUD.

Not concerned about how loud they are,,,there isn't any C5 catback louder than what I have now! (Corsa Ti's) My main concern is a complete 3" system with minimal restriction, and the sticks will fit perfectly in the limited space I have available in the center tunnel area. Car isn't a DD so loud isn't an issue.
