^ Your thread doesn't say anything about the hooker though man...
I have the aerochamber catback on my car with lt's ory and a cam and it is very very quiet. You can still tell the cam is there and it has a great tone at 2,000 to 4,000rpm with very minimal rasp. I'm loving since I went lt's and ory only for about 3 months and it was getting annoying. If you want something where you will be heard neither of these catbacks is for you but I would say that the magnaflow is louder for sure. Not much but it will be more noticeable...

The magnaflow is slightly louder, but not by much. As far as sound quality goes, Hooker sounds better. This is from a direct comparison from My car and my friends car. We both agree the hooker sounds better. The hooker also flows excellent, I only picked up 2hp by opening the cutout vs through the catback itself. With Headers/ORY neither of these catbacks are quiet like some would have you believe....at WOT they scream.

I like my hooker- it is quiter than the magnaflow, but the mag is SS, and will last a lot longer.
I picked up the hooker as I hated the tips on the magnaflow, but now they offer differnt tips, so if I had to choose one today the Mag would get my vote.

I also hated the tips on the magnaflow exhaust, so i just bought the muffler and had an exhaust shop fab up the rest of the pipes that would noramlly come with the package. The car is prety quiet atidle and low rpm's, but has a great tone and sound at higher rpms. I also have long tubes and ORY and I notice little rasp, if any, with this setup. But i did go with crinkle bend piping over the axle and 2.5" piping from the y pipe back, so it helps restict it a little more and elimate the rasp.

I've got a hooker catback on my car and of the group of f-body guys that I cruise, and hang with my car was the quietest, unless someone was stock. A buddy had Magnaflow on his 35th LE, when he stopped by my house to drop something off, I heard him half way down the block. His car was cam only, cheater cam, with pacesetter lt's. My car was stock manifolds and could hardly hear it next to the rest of the club. Then I put on some Kooks with maganflow cats and a DMH cutout, it ain't quiet no more!!!! If I close the cutout, it is still pretty quiet, but sounds alot better with the lt's.

good info...
I've had lots of combinations...currently using LTs ORY QTP Cutout and stock WS6 catback. I thought I'd like the stealth of the stock catback and the radical cutout...but what happened is I run the cutout all the time and am melting my floorpan!! So I need something that is conservative but flows well.
I've got both mufflers (aerochamber & magnaflow) at my fingertips and just need to decide which one. I'm thinking aerochamber.

Magnaflow came out with another catback with newer corsa style tips for the F-Bod's. Very nice!

pretty happy with my magnaflow. when i was looking at getting a catback, all i heard was magnaflow was quiet but sounded nice and smooth. put it on, yes it was barely louder than stock. then i added some longtubes w/ory and it woke it up a little bit. now that im cammed its pretty darn loud. sounds really good. yeah the tips are great, but its a good exhaust system.
my buddy blkbird, is running hooker i believe. i dont know if its just a muffler or catback, but his hooker has a deeper rumble at idle. but i think both would sound almost the same when cruising around. both are definitely good catbacks.

this just proves that it all depends on the application:
We just put the hooker aerochamber on a 00 LS1 w/ long tubes, off road Y, and it was night and day different than the Magnaflow that was on it...with the magnaflow you couldn't hardly tell the difference between it and when the cutout was open...the hooker aerochamber if so much quieter at cruise, nearly stock-like, but under throttle really growls.
Magnaflow -loud all the time
Hooker Aerochamber -nasty growl under throttle, but quiet at cruise.
