I'm interested in your larger ram air setup without the a/c condenser. BUT.. how does the air filter stay secure on that particular kit? From looking at the pics, I didn't see a filter tray it usually sits on. It also looks like the filter will fall right out of the bottom.

so everything fits the same with just some minor cutting...lid base assembly fits in the same position and uses the same 4 10mm bolts to secure it, the filter and lid also work the same...

I'm assuming the metal lip that sits on the core support is wide enough to keep the filter secure? It looks like without the plastic support in the middle of the filter tray, the filter will fall right through the bottom due to the weight (K&N Filter).
Otherwise, great invention on your part. Do Speedinc have them in stock, or do you have to make them when the order is placed?

Yeah it started off with my original design I had on my car, then the demand for it rose so I tweaked the design for the better to what it is today…I am very happy with it, minimal modifying, light weight, good looks, excellent performance, and Speed Inc was kind enough to back it after they saw its performance on a few of their cars, including mine…Thanks

I would recommend the non ac version just for the gains and for the weight reduction...I have had a few people get the ac version and then a couple weeks later pull the ac and upgrade to the larger ram air...but if you are set on keeping the ac I can whip one up for you...

Yep
I used the AC maybe once or twice last summer (usually doesn't get too hot in Chicago), so I decided that I'd be better off without it.
I've had both and here are my results from the one WITH AC (taken from one of my older posts)...
"...this is with the DA corrected both before and after...I ran .178 seconds faster and 1.534 mph faster. Nothing else on the car was changed."
My car is SI, btw.
My car went into storage for the winter shortly after the one for non AC cars went on, but I'll have some new results in the spring.

plus i made it so the bottom portion is removable so you dont have to worry about hitting it on curbs or on and off the trailer like the SSRA...

so you just push the radiator back some to create more room with the ac crap out of the way?
