Sorry if I missed it but how is this different than the Fast Toys ram air. It seems very similar. Thanks

the ac version is 50% larger than a ftra and has less bends...

the non ac version is 325% bigger than a ftra and is made out of lighter aluminum, and picks up fresh air with it's own deflector...

Thanks, so the non a/c version has some sort of scoop but the a/c version doesn't? I have the fast toys right now. Unfortunately it's too hot down here not to have a/c.

Sorry, kind of a long post.

Chris, do you know of any TUNING LOGS made between an LS6 85mm TB set up & a 90/90 FAST w/ your RAM air? I have RAM air (not yours unfortuneately because my car is a conversion & needed to have a custom RAM air set up) & from my testing would estimate the results to be nearly equal between the 2. Typical advantage of a FAST 90/90 would be for larger displacement engines & even then, only before RAM air takes effect. Would expect the RAM air to neutralize the difference in the intake size opening.

Personally, I would only go to a FAST w/ a larger than stock displacement engine; that pretty much goes without saying. Just wondered if any have tested (w/log) one against the other on stock cubes w/ your RAM air. A test between the 2 would likely dissmiss the FAST hype on STOCK CUBES. A dyno can't produce the RAM air effect. So, the FAST may show some better numbers in some areas under the curve, of which can fool the owner into thinking that there is better performance. Then there's SOTP hype, lol.

Even back to back runs, @ the drag strip, on stock cubes between the 2 w/ your RAM air installed would be enough to know for sure. Again, my opinion is that both would produce close to identical numbers, all else being the same. A test like this could also be a good selling point for going w/ the cost effective Chrs1313 RAM air instead of waisting $ on a FAST for STOCK CUBES. Anyway, could be an interesting test.

no I have never logged runs between the two intakes but I have had my ram air on since I was stock internal and after I was cam only I got a fast 92 and gained 1mph at the track...so the intake helped a little cam only but I agree it is not a great bang for the buck...more for heads and cam...

well phil's stock internal car gained 1.5mph with the ac version so you gained at least that if not a hair more due to being cam only

"Ram Air' is supposed to work by raising the air pressure in the intake manifold. If you want to see the non-effects just log MAPs to the decimal point under WOT during identical barometric pressure, temp, rpm, etc. Any effects can only be from a closer to ambient temperature of air coming in. At vehicle speeds RA plays to a myth.
