Flowmaster CB vs. TSP TD Sweet Thunder(or other)
Im sure your thinking man this has been asked a hundred times. This is different(I hope).
I bought my car with the Flowmaster CB on it. It also has LTs, ORY, and a Hot Cam. I like the sound of it but want a better flowing exhaust which I know the TDs will do plus if it is dumped at the axles maybe it will cut down on the gear whine from the 12 bolt.
I like the sound of both exhausts but my only problem is I dont want to **** off my neighbors(live in an apartment complex) to much because I love driving my car(drive it almost daily) and leave at 7:30 every morning. How much louder is the TDs verses the Flowmasters with LTs and ORY?

My true duals were quieter than my slp loudmouth system. So people who say TD's are the loudest need to hear more things. But compared to a flowmaster 80 series muffler, they will be louder.

Mine were quiet enough until the RPMS reached about 2700 or so, they started resonating pretty noticeably. I say quiet though, I was driving open headers for a week before I got them on. They sound amazing, and cant be beat for the price. Take note though if you end up going with a cam, it gets MUCH louder after the cam install. Its almost annoying now how many complaints from my neighbors I get. Compliments at gas stations and stoplights are a plus though. Just food for thought.

I might just leave it the way it is. I just wish someone locally had the TD set up if they have exhaust at all its Magnaflow or Borla it seems.

I have the same setup as you, except I have the MS3 cam. The Flowmaster CB isnt as bad as a lot of people around here make it out to be in terms of power loss. I went ahead and installed an E-cutout, so I can enjoy the best of both worlds. I posted my dyno sheet on here, it was only 8 rwhp difference between the Flowmaster and the open cutout. That 8hp was all top end, ***** to the wall power anyways.

I dont think a Hotcam would make that much of a difference in sound. But I dont know a whole lot about cams either. I know mine though (Torquer v.3) made a hell of a difference in exhaust note. Almost to the point where its too much for a DD.
* Edit * Thats referring to loudness

thats what i'd do. if you like the sound it has now, you'd have that and power when you need it. i've had dumped duals before and it adds vibrations and drone. when i was accelerating sometimes it was hard to talk to people and it got annoying with the interior rattling due to vibrations. and i was on stock manifolds and cats. i've got duals run out the back, now, and i love it but even though my dumped exhaust sounded good, i wouldnt go that route again. and if the rear-end whine is bothering you, dumped duals will add to the extra noises. just my opinion.
