Question QTP LTs.... What Y pipe?

i am such a newb when it comes to a Y Pipe.. i have had TDs on my car since basically i owned it..

Now i tried a search and got mixed results. I have QTP LTs on my car, i am going to switch my TDs (3" H pipe and 1 Chmaber Flows) to an ORY and c/b.... I have heard all sorts of different stories that a Kooks ORY will mate with the QTP LTs but need to fab them a bit. Then i heard that the QTP ORY has bad fitment issues.. So i am kinda torn..

Anyone have any ideas??

Anyone want to trade exhausts too? Sound clip with my cam in my sig.

I am looking for ORY (Kooks or QTP) with GMMG or Corsa C/B..

go with a custom fabbed one. the mufflex y does not fit too well, i had to have mine cut and refit better because it hung really low. if i did it over, i would have had someone make a custom one from the start.

Wish you were wanting to trade for Magnaflow cat back. As far as which Y to go w/, I vote custom as well. I have QTP headers waiting to go on and Magnaflow catback already on the car. I purchased a Flowmaster Y-merge and taking it to a shop so they can build rest of the system around it. I should have some before and after clips up here soon.

Magnaflow and a Y pipe is way too raspy for my taste..

flowmaster y merge and custom, or you will end up like I did, I ordered pacesetter y, which would have been a close fit, except for the subframe, damn! Brought it it a shop, ended up paying $300 total after everything, would have had alot nicer merge if it would have been all custom. Good clearance though.

yes they do! and not all headers fit the same, even same brand. Not to mention the merge was so shitty on my pacesetter, it went down to 2", had to bore it out the best we could, but it was horrible, would not recommend I dont care how cheap it was. I should have taken pictures of it.

I would seriously buy that Y-pipe from you right now...

I dont care if I pay too much... I want it!!!

Oh yeah... to the OP... Stay away from the QTP Catted Y... I busted the drivers side cat in less than 50 miles. Ground clearance is HORRIBLE. Im going to call QTP on friday and talk to them about their design.. Its really sad that their headers are so amazing, yet their Y pipe leaves TOO MUCH to be desired.

I have never had an issue, I had a hooker y-pipe sitting around and I used it on my Kooks headers and it fit with a little pulling, I have ordered my kooks y-pipe but still I have never had a bad issue like some of these guys. I have never messed with QTP's so that may be the issue??

I have heard of pacesetters having issues back in the day and really bad with LT1's but I think they have fixed there problems.

I used QTPs Y-pipe and rubbed on a lot of speed bumps.

Later, after that cat' went poop, I replaced both of them with some 3-inch Magnaflows, hung both right on the collectors (unlike the driver's side QTP style - the driver's side is right near the tranny crossmember, right in the center of the undercarriage where the breakover angle on driveways and speed bumps would grab it; the passenger's side was already on the collector,) then I bought a 3-inch mandrel U-bend from Summit and cut it to fill the spot where the driver's side collector used to be. Now, both cats' are on the collectors, and I haven't had clearance problems since. I did end up trimming a floor crossmember, right above the driver's side collector, so I could tuck the cat' and Y-pipe a little higher, and like I said, love it. I'll see if I can upload a pic' to show what I'm talkin' about.
