Default Question about Spark plugs

so i had a sts turbo on my car, but i recently sold it. the spark plugs were gapped at .030 just for the kit. i am gonna have to get the car re-tuned, with the kit off. do i have to re-gap the spark plugs back to .055 or .060?

I would imagine they were also a degree or two colder due to the turbo. I would get the correct plugs gapped to the correct spec. You won't do any damage with the current plugs but you may be leaving a few ponies on the table.

oh u bring up a good point. i forgot to mention, the spark plugs are the tr55s, not the colder plugs that most ppl use for turbo applications.

yea i know. i listened to the old owner and he turned out to be wrong.

would there be any benefit to leave them at .030 and then getting the car dyno tuned??

I think if you are no longer turbo'ed your best bet is to use a plug gapped best for that application which i've found to be in the .055 to .060 range, with a smaller gap you could be robbing yourself of some power which has been said before.

Lets see TR55 are what like $2 ea? For 16 bucks I'd just get a new set.

Now as for the headache of getting them in and out, I don't blame you for not wanting to do it.
