Car dies after LT install

Default Car dies after LT install

Tonight I finished installing a set of SLP LT headers and after driving the car for about 10 minutes it just dies.I then try to restart the car but no reponse, after cranking the car over for about a good 15 seconds it starts again.I then drive about a mile then the same thing happens.I get the car restarted and then it dies after about 2 miles, after this 3rd time the battery is toast and it will not even crank anymore.What in the world could have caused this?The only problem I dont know about is the rear 02's are unplugged, other than that everything appears as it should be ok.Please help.

Check output on your electricals.

make sure you have everything plugged in, check if the o2 wires are burned

when i did my headers my Engine fuse blew. Car ran like crap and was hard to crank over. Check this fuse. Its located in the engine bay. Good Luck

the slp kit comes with a heat wrap thing to wrap on the passenger side long wire that runs down, usally after the slp LT install that wire rests on the headers so u have to re wrap it

unplug your battery and re-connect it.... let the computer reset itself i had to do this before my car ran right...

Checked the wiring today, nothing burned at all.Changed the front 02's, took it for a drive after about 3 miles the car died again, cranked for a few seconds, nothing.I then cycled the key a couple more times after about the 4th time I heard the fuel pump kick on.Started driving again then it died. Cycled the key several more times the fuel pump kicks back on.I think that may be the problem, does this sound like a failing fuel pump?

usually a fuel pump will just go out without any sign that its getting ready too but your right that could be your problem.

mine did this also when I did my headers, I found that I had left the connector by the drivers side header ( #1 i believe) unplugged. couldn't figure out what the hell was going on, and honestly I hooked it up and it started. I don't know if that is all it was or if it was just playing games with me. but that connector is a small little one and I overlooked it. hope u get it started

Run the check list.

start from the heads and make sure that everybolt is tightened down, everywire is hooked up, every O2 is hooked up, etc.

Unplug your battery as well to reset the PCM. When I did my exhaust I had to unplug the battery for at least 15 minutes to reset the PCM to accept my MIL eliminators and it worked.
