Default Corsa installed, Not happy

I have Kooks LTs w/y pipe and cats.

Had a flow master.

The Corsa sound is muffled and metalic sounding.(raspy is the term you all use I think)

I was hoping for a good sound like I had on my old car.

I had Mac mid length with y pipe and cats and Borla cat back.

Borla is to loud with LTs as my friend already tested it.

My question would be is there anything I can do to improve the sound of the Corsa?

Not what I was expecting 800 dollars + installation later.

I will get a sound clip of it for you guys.

Yours seems to sound good.

I have heard they get louder as time goes on.

I have about 200 miles on the Corsa.

Kooks LT's + ORY + Corsa = RASPY! Ask me how I know When I got mine installed I was a bit disappointed, especially when the baffle inside broke in less than 300 miles and it cost me over $250 to get a replacement The sound has gotten a bit better with time (some people say it because carbon builds up on the inside) and has grown on me quite a bit, but it's still raspy. I will say one thing though, it sounds awesome at WOT Just better hope there's no cops 2 mile radius I had someone suggest installing a resonator in the I-pipe to tone it down a bit but not too sure how much it would help.

Here's a clip at idle.

myfast70 I wouldnt even take that out of the garage where I live bay area cops in cali are the absolute worst, but sweet car. Back to the exhaust question if you don't get them welded they can leak heres a vid of mine (since everyone else is sharing) didn't know how to use the camera so 20 seconds of nothing at the end

exhaust just ended under axle at the time that vibration that fills your speakers in the beginning is what used to set off car alarms

Hard to believe its raspy with cats.. Kinda hard to describe a sound by typing..lol Mine was raspy too...so i added a dynomax bullet to the i-pipe and that helped alot. I have an ORY. Tamed it down alot and it still screams at WOT

I had Kooks longtubes and Corsa on my CTS-V and hated the metallic clatter they had on decel. I ended up cutting out the Corsa canisters, selling them on eBay and buying some Magnaflow mufflers from Jegs.

Magnaflow sounds smoother and deeper than the Corsas, which have a lot more of a raspy "bark" to them.

My buddy has the Magnaflow.

To me it sounds like he has a potato stuffed up his tail pipe.

No thanks.

I've had my Corsa on stock manifold & cats for about 25K miles now and it sounds nice, deep and throaty, so maybe there's something to be said for the carbon build up theory.

I'm going to have your same setup, as I plan to return Kooks ORY and get the catted Y. The only difference then will be that my Corsa is "broken in"...if there is such a thing.

Check this thread from a few days ago.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/984731-return-my-kooks-ory-catted-y.html

HMFDZ28 Has your setup and he says:
I have Kooks 1 3/4" to 1 7/8" stepped primary headers, Kooks Catted Y, and Corsa catback; This setup sounds perfect to me.....Nice and refined while cruising around it seems like I have a slightly deeper stock Corsa but after 3k it gets all sorts of angry sounding. Just a great all around combination. My car is a DD and my 65-70 mph cruise to work doesnt bother me nor have any low engine speed rasp. Hope that helps ya.

Corsa is more then less purchased for its build quality and fancy tips... The sound is often very raspy with a h/c setup like yours. Plus the mufflers are known to blow out after short time. Try swapping in a magnaflow muffler?

Did that & got my resonator from KOOKS, after i did that it only lasted two days because i hated the sound after the install, it was too quiet. What KOOKS sent me was a very nice piece theo.
