SLP 85MAF VS Stock MAF w/ported ends
#21
I put Thunder Racing ported ends on mine and that in combination with an underdrive pulley picked me up 13 rwhp before tuning. Didn't get to see after tuning because my tranny gave up but I was pretty impressed.

This is my personal experience. With full exhaust only, emissions removed, and no lid on my 99 a couple years back. I ported the crap out of my MAF which I figued would be close to the ends you were talking of getting. When i went to get tuned at TTP, my A/F went to 16.1-1... That is dangerous as ****, he did tune it back to normal, but that is one thing I have seen from ported ends in a way. Just throwing it out there from personal experience, doesn't mean it will happen to you though.

I used a set of platic MAF ends on my stock '99 MAF and it ran just fine. Never had
a surging issue or nothing. Any time you make a change to any of the electronic on your
car you should always disconnect the battery. Then let the PCM re-learn the new change you made, this way you have less issues. On my '02 stock SS A4 i descreened my maf
and stuck a SLP lid on and my car picked up power.
