Re: Best headers for 427 in an f-bod?
Since a 427 isn't cheap I would say look for results on the stepped edelbrock headers(cheap). 1-3/4" stepped to 1-7/8" inch is one reason, the other is the 3.5" collector. With all of those cubes you could use the 3.5" collector. You can always have them coated, and still they would be cheaper than most manufacturer's coated headers.

Thanks. I've been away since last winter and am not up do date on the new stuff out. The Kooks site is down and I didn't know Eledbrock had LT's out. I'm willing to pay for the best. What size are the Kooks? Any header out there larger than 1-7/8?

Yes, 2" is what I was thinking about. Kooks, huh? That may be it. Do any sponsors sell them, or does anyone have any info? I don't have much time to search the site, I have to pay $$ to use the internet here in Baghdad.

Re: Best headers for 427 in an f-bod?
Well, I just mailed Kooks to see what they can do for me. I wish there was some technical way to find out what would be the perfect header for me. I kinda hate to assume that 2" is the absolute best when, in reality, I don't know for sure. Maybe bigger than 2inch, maybe smaller. If anyone has any thoughts, please chime in. Thanks

Bravo,
You might consider contacting Burns Stainless Burns Stainless . They provide a service for designing exhaust systems. I've never used them personally so I don't know what's involved and what it would cost, but it may be worth it to give them a call or email.
Also, if I remember correctly, one of our members, John B, has done some extensive header/exhaust research. Maybe shoot him a pm.
