He was not knocking the MS4, just posting his results with a properly matched combo.100 lbs in a 11 second car is equall to aprox 1/10.He would of run faster Friday night but it started to rain right after the track opened, like 10 minuits. The temp was on its way down .

Hice one Chris, 215 or 220 cc heads (5.3L) ported and you'll get your low 10s
I have a guy here running "El Torro"s big brother, 236/236, and he is in the 10.4x cam only, YPT4200, stock 10 bolt, 3:23 gears + bolt ons 3300 weight.
Those XFI/XE-R no split cams are putting out some serious trq. Mind you, as I always say, you should take a lot of credit for paying attention to detail, degreing the cam and such...

Chris....
Nice times, gives me hope. I have the exact same cam with TEA 5.3 heads, 4k performabuilt verter, and 3.42
I am hoping for 11's but I only made 393 unlocked, so I think there is more in my tune.

Cam only I recommend 7.425 all around. That should minimise valvetrain noise.
springs Patriot Dual "Gold" or PRCs Duals.
At that ICL it has very safe PTV margins.
Also, and Chris knows, I recommend DEGREING this cam at that ICL. That can be as much as 15rwhp. Not all grinds are the same, degreing ensures valve events.

Let's just put it this way. My old car was cam only with the MS4. I loved it and had a blast with the car. It was sort of a DD (I have a company car to drive around if needed, and used it for work), and sometimes it was a pain in certain situations to drive my car, but I think it was worth it. I now have a '98 6spd. If I were to do a cam again, it would be a 224 or 228 max. The MS4 is a great cam, but isn't for everyone, and success can be had with much smaller cams too. I think this is what Chris is trying to say.
