Default Who is using what connecting rod?

I've been shopping around for a high strength forged or billet connecting rod, and I just want to hear what some of the other Gen III fans are using. I've found some that fit the bill, but I just really don't like the idea of using rods made from overseas blanks (H beam). I've heard a few people have problems (and I've had my hands on some others from customer's engines) with the lower end products (scat, eagle, etc.), but I've never messed with anything that was finished by a reputable company (compstar, manley, etc.) in that particular type of application. I've been leaning toward old reliable Crower, but I want to hear some about what is on the track now. Please share!

I have a set of Lunati Pro Mods that I'll be using in my 408. Eagle rods are quality pieces and don't cost much at all. I would have bought a set of those if I had to get a set new. I got a really good deal on my block, old crank that I'm saving, and those Lunati rods. Speed Inc has used standard Eagle rods with 8740 rod bolts in combos of over 1000hp.

You have plenty of options:
Callies
Crower
Eagle
Howards
K1
Lunati
Scat
etc...

Crower rods here, no complaints yet. Good quality rod, good price.

Use a lot of the Callies Compstar rods, no problems at all so far and the big end of the Compstar rod is smaller than some of the others.

We like to use Callies in our builds but to save the customer some money if they wish we will use Eagle.

I've seen stock rods go mid 9s. There's a lot of different variables involving what you plan on doing.

We've pushed Eagle H-beams with the ARP2000 rod bolts to 1100+rwhp through a Powerglide and big slick on one of the co-owner's old turbo vettes.

We do recommend Callies exclusively for any of our 4.10" stroke builds, because as ***** said, the big end is a bit smaller profile than others and you can run this without grinding on your oil pan.

We offer Eagle, Scat, Callies, Oliver, Manley, Crower, Lunati, and K1 rods at very competitive pricing. Let us know if we can help. We're eager to earn your business!
