Default just got some etp heads, now what cam....

i just bought some 215cc etp heads with 62cc chambers used with just about 300 miles on ebay, got a killer price...but anyway i've been reading through all the posts on these and i can't really find a cam that maches these heads i'm just sick of doing search after search and was wondering if anybody had any personal results or dyno graphs they can post.I just found that the usal cams(vindicator,streetsweeper,ms4,hellion...not really much results any help will be appreciated.

the car is an 02 firehawk
current mods
t-rex cam
ported oil pump
dual roller timing chain
full exhaust
ported fast with tb(to be installed)
underdrive pulley
electric water pump(to be installed)
currently at 400rwhp 368tq
want to be close to 500rwhp as possible(max effort build)
not a dd just a track/car show car

I agree ^ ask ETP.I bought some used 5.3L ETP heads and called them.I know i'm going with a moderate size cam but wanted to know their recomindation on how much split(more exhaust duration)to use.The people who made the heads should know best.

You are correct, that was Christian's car in Miami. He did a lot extra little things to the car too, so don't think you'll hit 511 rwhp just because you use the same parts, and every car is different. Ask him how many hours he has "tweaking" his tune ?? LOL What a nightmare. Or is it just because Uncle C is a perfectionist??

I was using a Custom Comp 224/228 .636/.639 @112+2lsa - made just shy of 400rwhp on our dynos over here and the heads were milled to 62cc. I would imagine you'd need to be 230+ duration to get to the 500rwhp.

I am no longer using ET215s though........

Cheers,

Macca

Why not just run them with the T-REX you already have?

As my prefered Nephew said a lot of work was involved to get 511RWHP and 455RWTQ from my 346Ci with the StreetSweeper and the ETP 215...

But what a blast...I will redo it anytime!!!!!!!

Christian

the trex is more designed for stock heads, i don't think it would give me that great of results with these heads, but that would be cool though if it worked

i talked to someone at new era and he said that they made less horsepower with the hellion 244/248 .630/.630 112 than with using the streetsweeper 236/240 630/612 111 so i'm thinking not to go too much over 240 on the duration side since those heads were designed to flow really well mid-lift not just top end. I was thinking of the ms4 also but i think that cam is kida on the larger side for these heads and it might hurt me mid-lift also these heads are 62 cc so they are a little bigger than miami993c297 so i don't think i'll hit the numbers like him but i would be happy with anything close
