Cartek has cars over 500rwhp with their ported 243 heads which I believe are in the $2,500 range + core. That's N/A. Search and you'll find them.

Yeah, but $3k for a set of heads is just too much money in my book. I actually started to debate going to some of the top heads like ETP, TFS, AFR, etc but in the end I just didn't want to spend that much money.

Its pretty funny how this whole thing snowballed. Originally didn't intend on buying anything extra. I just brought my car in to have the oil consumption problem fixed along with an out of balance flywheel assembly which turned out to mean new pistons and re-balancing my flywheel covered under my GM warranty. And than to take advantage of this opportunity for free labor, so to speak, the mods & new parts started snowballing...I bought the 228R cam kit w/springs, pushrods etc, new timing chain, new Centerforce DF clutch kit, New master & slave cylinders, pilot bearing, CCA oil catch can, remote bleeder....and now the heads...and of course this will also require a new dyno tune! It all adds up!

Well My car is a DD when its Not snowing like a Bitch here in Ohio lol. Its very Driveable, Idles nice for a 112lsa and Pulls like a Monster from 2,500 to about 6,300 rpm!!!! You will not be disappointed, just make sure you take it to a good Tuner and you will be fine. Since you are going 228R it will probably have a bit more kick.

Its not a GM dealership, it's a Vette shop. Luckily they do warranty work there.

I am pretty sure you will be happy with the TSP 2.5 5.3 heads. My car with a stalled a4 with TSP 2.5 5.3s, 230/230 598/612 111+2 and pacesetters, TSP catted ypipe, SLP LM1 exhaust, 42 lb injectors, unported fast 92/92, 25% under drive pulley made 422 to the wheels. I am sure if it were a 6 speed it would have been closer to 460 at the wheels.
