I'm confused honestly... why did you post in a thread about a discussion piece that doesn't exist... for the I believe fourth time! NO ONE is disputing what an LS1 block can handle...

lets repeat this one more time for the learning impaired... " No one... is disputing... what an LS1 block... can take for abuse."

Were all just pointing out that a N/A LS1 won't make that power, much less on a small lift cam.

I say thread stays closed until pictures are posted...

Guys, pay attention to what he's saying...98 block bored .060" over...cant be done!! They didnt make the iron blocks in 98 either. Only way is with a resleeved block, and no one in their right mind resleeves a 98 block b/c of the lack of material around the bores and the water passages.

i would be willing to bet OP is about 17-19 and VERY uninformed....as is his counterpart...one of those kids at the street races that adds up their horsepower from their cold air intakes and mufflers...like previously stated, people dont really grasp how much power 400+rwhp really is

Well.... actually you dont know what your talking about...

First LOTS of people make what you make and LOTS more. No one is saying that the ls platform cant make the power on stock cubes. Were saying it cant be Done NA on stock cubes.

And trying to dog on guys That have put down the money to make the same power you make on Blower with motor is stupid...

For one thing you dont make 575 on 5 psi.

Second if you did You would probably get walked by a motor car of equal power.... Since if you are only running a 5 pound pulley.. Prolly half of the curve you are running a weak small cam stock bottom end with 2-4 pounds...
I bet that combo screams..... EPIC FAIL

And tossing a weak cam and a LOW PSI blower on an other wise stock motor does not mean you know a damn thing.

Thanks for inputing Your vast amounts of stupidity.

My mouth would be watering too if I wasn't educated on LS engines on a deal like this. If it sounds too good to be true, 99.99999% of the time it is. As for the bashing and my car put down this and that.... Step away from the keyboard, you're making yourself sound dumb. I'm sure that with $23k a 346 could be built to put down 575 rwhp through a manual transmission N/A.

i think this guys full of it too, why would you put 23000 into a ls1 when you could buy a lsx bowtie professionaly built for 5-7kish. the max i made on my setup was 510 thats with 10:1 compression and 12psi the only other modifications were fuel delivery, but it didnt last long as i am currently putting a lq4 in .dont give this dude a dime till you see the reciepts for the parts, if its at the spending level he says its at then he'll have em

i agree with moeZ28 the ls1 block is a siamese design block it cant be bored over that much the walls would be far too thin, i smell poo poo here and with 23k you had better be makin alot more than the 500's in hp

No cheeseball, this is not and has never been a thread about HOW MUCH power the LS1 block can handle. The original poster listed what this entire engine build consisted of...and thats whats IMPOSSIBLE about the 575 RWHP claim.

Read the first post, comprehend what we're talking about, then come back and apologize.

Got it!

Still, no way it can make anywhere near 575 RWHP. Maybe 500 RWHP through an M6 tranny.

I have a resleeved LS6 block from LPE, 427ci, ported LS6 heads and ported LS6 intake, ported stock TB, 11.3:1 compression, 1 7/8" LT's, through a 4L60E with 3:73 gears. I made 490 RWHP/493 RWTQ if memory serves, it was dynoed like 7 years ago just once when it was completed. My cam is 244/244 .610/.610 114 lsa.

The info I just listed is really all a person needs to know if they want to know how powerful an engine is going to be. Thats the essential info that is needed. There's some other little things but thats really all you need to know about a build. So you see what it takes to make 575 RWHP, I'm nowhere near and my engine is about what your friend is claiming.

I would have to put the best heads available with a very good intake and TB to approach 575 RWHP, and more cam. It can be done.

Are you sure your friend isn't talking RWHP on spray? I mean if he's making 375 or 400 N/A, he can do 575 RWHP on a 175-200 shot.

Bottom line man..............

Arguing on the internet is like competing in the Special Olympics: Whether you win or lose, you're STILL a 'TARD!
I thought I was bad arguing the validity of stock GM parts. hahaha

I'd find new friends if I were you. You can't bore an aluminum block LSX motor beyond .010 over. Period. So he if full of **** on that.

.609 lift is nothing for a LSx motor. My STEALTH II cam had .625 lift.

He says he put $23000 into it but he is willing to sell it to you for $2000. I've never had a friend that good. Your being scamed

You saw a dyno sheet for something, probably not his N/A engine.

I could make a cam only LS1 make those kind of numbers if I was willing to to hit it with a 200 shot.

umm in this day and age, what does "worked" really mean?

anyway, that it still not enough to make that much HP, its prob a decent build and all, but not as advertised.

You said LS6 block, but you did not say 427. And no, an LS6 block still cant be bored to a 427...Max bore is less than .015" over, and thats stretching it. The biggest stock block pistons I have seen were .010" over, which is what I used in my old car. 3.908" mahle piston. An LS6 block is basicly the same as an LS1 block with better casting and a few updates. Still 3.898" bore stock, and can only be made into a 427ci by being sleeved. If it hasnt been sleeved, your not-so-cool friend is lying to you! Just to sleeve a block is well over $1000, not sure exactly b/c I have no experience with it, but I smell bullshit in all this!

And no, I am not arguing that 575rwhp cant be done with stock cubes, just that its more than likely not being done here, and the info he is being told is not possible with stock components limitations.

575rwhp and 7.20's and high 6's says it all for me no matter what engine combo, especially with an auto

thats pathetic
