It would have to have a bottle to make that power. The size of the motor is what is what should be under discussion??? I doubt it is a 427 and most likely a 383 if that, which means it makes 450 or below of the bottle. I would say no, don't even think about it unless you can count how many times he sprayed it in that 10k Probably a great deal (as in he has sprayed it a great deal) ...

lmao everything you mentioned about the engine in your last post shows it would likely be putting down around 420ish...long shot from 575, im sure it was misinterpreted as 575 was his total #'s with spray though...

For the money he is charging you it is probably a cam only worn out LS1 with **** loads of piston slap and it uses more oil than gas.

You get what you pay for.

come on its not THAT hard...

stock ls1 motor 340hp

lid - 10hp
ported maf - 5hp
aftermarket TB - 10hp
ls6 intake - 10hp
slp headers - 40hp
catback - 15hp
cam - 75hp
heads - 50hp
hypertech programmer - 25hp

that adds up to 580hp

cause we all know the hp claims by the advertisers are accurate.

and that's not even taking into account the "bored .060" over" motor or flat top pistons.

Talking about busting someones *****. Holy smokes !! LOL. This guy is obviously NEW (OP) and needs help not criticism.

IMHO do not buy the motor. Just save and buy all new stuff and get it done right.

haha....i know...it was early and my coffee hadn't arrived yet.

but honestly...for $2000...if the motor DOES have ported heads, and some upgraded internals, it may be worth it.

but i would still have the motor rebuilt. if nothing else broken down and checked over, and new bearings put in.

i'd consider buying a stroker motor for $2000 if it had a set of ETP or TEA heads on it!!

Ok than. If he's spraying it with a 175-200 shot and claiming 575 RWHP, thats different. But now you're probably buying an engine that is totally rung out. 175-200 is alot of spray.

But look, for once and for all, $23,000 is really pathetic for a stock cube build or a tiny bit more that he MIGHT have done. That would buy you a top of the line 440ci engine making 600+ RWHP from a top engine builder.

A 175-200 shot on top of a properly built stock cube engine could make 575 RWHP, but it wouldn't cost much more than $5,000 for the new forged bottom end and assembly. The heads, intake and TB just needed to be ported. Buy some LT's and you're done.

If you're not just pulling our legs with this thread, you're friend is a class "A" lying ********.

Ask him who built it?

HPE......$23,000

Did your friend ask HPE to just add $15,000 to the bill as a tip?

There's no way. Its a rotating assembly, some port work and a nitrous kit, thats it.

Would HPE actually bore an LS1 block 30 over and then tell a customer to spray the **** out of it???????????????
