Default Ticking sound ( with video )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=928jaZVM9Zg

Ok, so i was running down the road having a little fun, no problems at all car runs fine. I get off the highway and stop at the stopsign and i hear this noise, im like wtf? I give it a rev and it ticks even faster! I have NO idea what this sound is im told it could be a rocker/bent rod/spring. It just started happening the motor has about 117,000 on it. Car only has headers/lid, sparkplugs/wire are brand new maybe 5k on them. Just changed the oil about 500 miles ago.

The car still runs fine it doesnt idle rough or anything, i got on it a little bit and it still reacts the way it should (not getting on it anymore though).

Any help is appreciated guys!

check the easy things first. Pull the valve covers and take a good look at the rockers. With that milage it's very possible that the bearing puked out of one of the rockers. Next look at all the valve spring to make sure one didn't break. If that's ok start pulling the pushrods. one may of bent. If all of that is ok then I will bet a lifter took a ****. then ya have to pull the heads.

this will get ya in there. just quit before you start pulling the front of the engine apart. Just start pulling the coil packs off and then the valve covers. this will tell ya how to do it.

I know this may sound a little stupid, but that happened to me after a race and I did the whole bent push rod thing.. Finally took it to a mechanic and my flywheel had gone bad, replaced it, ticking noise gone... Good Luck!!

Mine sounded just like that. I had a broke pushrod on the drivers side. Checked the others on a piece of glass, they were good and straight. Replaced it and one rocker. The pushrod had been bent for some time I think. I've got 156k on the motor, just bolt ons.

is it on the drivers side??? if so check that Evap Canister you had the camera right over it and it sounded dead on what my car was doing. Replaced the Evap and no more tick, did it when it was cold and went away when it was warm.

Its not evap, its very faint when its cold and very loud when its hot. It has to do with oil im guessing cause the oil thins out and it gets louder and whatnot. Im about to just tear the whole topend apart any advice guys? Tips, tricks? Mirrors, Magnets? LOL\

I havnt looked at the pushrods, but thats my next guess and last but no least lifters.

This is the trick to hold the lifters "up" while removing/installing the cam. To actually remove/replace the lifters you have to take the heads off. Good try though
