Default Z06 cam push rod question

The base circle of the Z06 cam is supposed to be smaller, so everything being equal how much longer push rod would you need if you had a set of 243's without the special length Z06 valve stems?

Need a set of Z06 pushrods? I have a set from 2003 with only 10,000 miles. I need different length for my head/cam project!

they won't work for him, they are the same as what he has stock. The difference is in the cam base circle and the valve stem length, with the same pushrod inbetween.

You really should measure. The base circle of the 02 Z06 cam is .050 smaller so usually you will need to get a rod that is .025 longer than stock (all things being equal you would need a 7.425" p-rod) but again you really should measure. Lots of variables can make a difference.

yes If I install the cam I'll measure I just wanted to know the difference. It's much easier for me to start with a known. So if I started with the stock length keep increasing until it goes past optimum. I just wanted to make sure there was going to be a noticable amount of adjustment.

Yes .025 is a significant change from stock.

I've got the opposite problem I think. I've got an '04 crate LS6 longblock swap in my '98 Z28. If I wanted to go with the TR224 cam, would I need to get shorter pushrods, or can I just put the cam in without changing pushrods?

Measure, and you should never run stock pushrods with a aftermarket cam. I wouldn't even recommend stock pushrods for a stock cam.

You would want shorter pushrods since the ls6 magic valves are .025 longer than normal ls series valves. But again all engines are different and you should measure to be sure. The 7.375 will get you in the ballpark though.
