A Flooded Street vs. LS1
Last night was a nightmare. It was raining hard. A storm hit our area and flooded the whole city in some parts. I tried to go through streets that werent bad and I worked my way home. Until I got surrounded by water in every corner!!! The whole area was flooded...I was freaking out! For the most chance, my alternator got messed up that on my gages it said "Check gages", well the battery was dying...lights were dimming...so I figured once my car would turn off it wont turn back on...So then I tried to slowly go through a street and there my car struggled and turned off...I stayed stuck in the middle of the street, 6 blocks away from my house at 1am...so then my dad helped me out with his truck and pulled me to home...
next day (today), I figured my car wouldn't turn on so I opened my hood. The lid i have is the clear one from MTI. So it was full of moisture and watery...I opened the whole thing together with the smooth bellow and water came out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I opened the throttle and more water came out!!!!!!!!!
So I kept taking the water out with everything I could! I jacked the car up so water would come out easier! So it worked...I decided to move to the next level and started vaccuming inside the intake....
right now its dry...and I havent turned the car on....I checked my oil stick and the level is where it should be and no bubbles.....so far so good???
Now I have 2 choices:
Turn the car on and see what happens
or
Do an oil change (I did that last week)
WHAT DO I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT'S THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW, how deep of water did you drive thru man? I have drove mine thru water deep enough it almost came in the doors & still never got my filter wet. I'm also running my hood unbaffled with a clear MTI lid & have never even seen moisture in mine. And it gets driven year round in all types of wet weather.
Worst that can happen is the motor hydrolocks. I would take out the plugs, remove the fuel pump fuse so your not squirting fuel in & turn it over to pump out any possible water in the cylinders. Otherwise if there is water in there & you crank it over it probably will hydro lock. Then change your oil & watch it drain closely. Put in new oil, let the alternator dry out good(sometimes they will work again after they dry), put new plugs in & new dry air filter. Might want to clean your AIT sensor & MAF also while your at it.
After all this fire it up & see what happens. It'll either be all good or your lookin at a rebuild.

Pull all your spark plugs out, then pull your fuel pump fuse out (underneath the hood). Then turn the key and crank the car for 10-15 seconds. Install spark plugs, change oil and fire it up.

There are two fuse boxes on the driver's side toward your headlight. It gives you a breakout of which fuses are which. Just pull out the one under the cover that shows fuel pump. This will prevent any fuel from going to the motor.
Pull out all of your spark plugs. And when they say crank they mean try to start it. The fact that it has no spark plugs and no fuel means that it won't start. This will blow the water that is in your cylinders out.

Edit: ^^^beat me to it!
Haha ok no problem. Take your spark plugs out, Take the fuse for your fuel pump out (read owners manual) this will not let the motor get any fuel, then turn the key like you are trying to start the the car for 10-20 seconds (this will get all of the water out of your cylinders).
After you are done with that put the spark plugs and fuel pump fuse back in and see if your car starts. Alternator may need to be replaced from the sound of it.

Something similar happened to me back in October. Wound up going through a puddle I couldn't see because it was so huge, and almost came up to the doors. My 3" duals were submerged, and I also have the SLP ram air The result was a car that ran like crap, misfired, backfired, and a few bent valves.
What they're telling you to do in a nutshell is:
Step 1: Remove all 8 spark plugs from your motor
Step 2: Remove the fuel pump fuse from the fuse panel inside the engine bay
Step 3: Turn the key as if you were trying to start your car, and let it crank for 10-15 seconds to pump out any water.
Step 4: Change your oil
Step 5: Install new spark plugs
Step 6: Check/clean air filter, MAF, IAT... And any other sensors that could've gotten wet.
Step 7: Reinstall fuel pump fuse
Step 8: Go to fire it up and hope for the best

I would personally turn it over by hand if you can then use the starter to blow out the water. Then squirt a little oil in each cylinder to lubricate and turn it over with the starter again to ensure it doesn't start dry. You need to do this quick, the internal parts rust quickly.
