Question Cam Only Setup - Plugs/Wires Question

I got new stock AC Delco plugs and a free set of Taylor (Red) plug wires installed in my car probably 30,000 miles ago. I had the dealer install them, and they said they gapped them to the appropriate GAP (probably .55-.60).. I have since got it tuned and cammed, mods are in signature..

I have been doing some researching on here, and I have been reading that many people suggest better plugs (colder range and smaller gapped .45-.50)and upgrading to better plug wires for every 75-100HP you add.. Thoughts?

Question:

What plugs (how much are they gapped) and plug wires do you guys suggest for my setup?

You could go with NGK TR6 plugs. Wires, stock ones work fine. I have MSD wires on my car but it doesn't really make too much of a difference on our cars with how short the plug wires are. This isn't a regular SBC with a dist and plug wires that are 2-3 ft long.

I saw virtually no difference on a dyno with my MSD wires over stock and I would also recommend the NGKs.

Just curious why you are suggesting the TR6 plugs over the TR55s? What gap are you guys suggesting as well?

It looks like both these come pre-gapped at .40? It seems like quite a bit to re-gap these to .50-.55 or so... This is the information NGK's website provides:

NGK is a good common plug that you can find at your local Oreilly store. TR6 is a step colder than stock and it will help some with detination issues these cars have. I have my TR7 plugs gapped between .032 and 0.035 for the bottle. 0.040 and 0.045 is good for these cars.

Unless you are spraying, stick with NGK TR55 plugs gapped .055" and run stock GM wires, not aftermarket. You'll never have problems if you go this route. Aftermarket wires have caused more headaches for people that ask me to tune than you can even imagine.

No ****... I wonder If my MSD's contributed to my first tuners problems. lol At least they look nice, I guess.

I already have the car tuned with these aftermarket Taylor wires, without access to a re-tune, would switching back to stock wires mess things up?
