Slight tick????
this goes with my other thread i had a throttle body blade screw sucked up which caused the blade to stick open, so when i pushed the clutch in it bounced off the limiter at 6700 for a few seconds before i shut the key. well i got the screw out and now i have a slight tick, its deff up in the valvetrain its either a bent pushrod or a lifter. i had stock pushrods and stock lifters they had 40k on them. i was thinking either i bent a pushrod or a i had some valve float maybe and the lifter needs to pump it self back up i didint have time to pull the pushrods today. what do you guys think
well checked all 16 pushrods they couldnt be any more straight . i was gunna throw back on the rocker arms and the valve covers and run it and see if the tick goes away im hoping the lifter will come back up if it is that . any suggestions

ill also add its deff a tick and its up in the drivetrain when i reved it you cant hear the ticking. so the ticking didint get faster with revs it went away but then you could hear it when it when back to idle
well no video but an update put the rockers back with the valve covers ect and started the motor. had the loud tick let it idle for about 15 mins and came back to it, still ticking but now half as loud. let it cool then took it for a 10 min drive, it drove perfect no missfiring, stumbling, felt as good as ever came home got out and listened to the motor and the ticking is even quieter, still there but almost gone. so im going to take it for a half an hour drive later if i have time and see what happens. so i guess its just a lifter thats a little stuck???????
why would the oil filter matter?
My car does the same exact thing im almost sure i have a bent pushrod. i got another set with 40k on them ive been meaning to throw them in but havent had the time

with the way your saying its getting more and more quiet every time you drive it and what not im leaning towards a lifter man. mayb when that screw went down it got caught in a valve causing some tension on one of those lifters. should have bent a pushrod but maybe it just jacked the lifter all the way down and stuck it there and its trying to recover.. thats my guess
