Timing chain and oil pump clearance problem
I'm having a little problem with this and wanted some opinions before I screw something up . I have searched and saw some have clearance issues with this and some don't.
Anyway, I just recently got a Rollmaster double chain and Melling oil pump and I'm having issues with the cover not fitting right. I replaced the stock oil pump bolts with some smaller headed grade 8 bolts and it seems to fit. I put the cover and gasket on snugged it down and turned it over and couldn't hear anything that would be rubbing. I took the cover off and saw no rub marks either.
I just wanted to find out if anyone has done the same thing and it work out for them or not and any other opinions .

if your using the spacers with the double roller, ck right where the pump/pickup is, they tend to hit there also-a lot easier to see if the engine is out of the car-using the melling pump with a double row chain will hit several places sometimes-if you dont use a gasket, it will show a little better where it hits

The meling pump is actually a bit taller compared to like a SLP Pump, if you are using spacers for the double chain, you will need to grind spots on the timing cover to clearance it. On a SLP pump w double chain you 99% of the time have to clearance cut the timing cover, this is per SLP.
