4.125 Resleeved Alum Block
4.0 Stroker Crank.
8 Cylinders.
428 Cubic Inches. 427 just sounds better so that is what I call mine. Heads are another animal all together. You need to do some research and make your own decision. Good Luck. Bear

Can C5R heads bolt on to a regular LS1/LS6 block?

Yes they can, but you would need a custom intake manifold.

Yes, all you need is a resleeved LS1 alum block (4.125 bore) with 4.oo crank or 6K+!!!! (Use lunati and not Callies).

STROKER HEADS, CALL MTI as the stage III LS6 heads i am running on their 427 C5R block motor which was the first LS6 heads to put a Naturally aspirated 422 C5 LS6 into the 9s (the Colonel) well over a year ago!!!

So, if I were to [b]JUST[b/] put C5R heads on my 436 stroker and a sheetmetal intake, say the NASTY PERFORMANCE intake, and a set of headers that will fit, what will that do for the RWHP increase????

QUICKEN,

If your able to get that all dialed in plus or minus one or two other fabrications that you need to get that C5R top end to work, etc. i would say you are looking at least a 75RWHP increase over your current set up and maybe 100rwhp more if you bump up the compression with that set up to about 12.5 to 13 to1 compression! HOWEVER<plan on at least 10 to 13K to get this bad boy set up as the C5R heads are HUGE $ as well as the other top end parts neede to get this BITCH set up right!

Besides the sheetmetal intake, what do you mean by top end parts?

How much are just the C5R heads? Can they be ported, or do they come
maxed out?

i know that raging motorsports just put together and tuned a 427 c5r BLOCK and 6.0L head motor and it made nearly 510 rwhp and over 500 rwtq. this was a "cheap" head setup and ls6 intake.

Thats virtually the same thing as a 427 LS1/LS6, right? Because a C5R block offers zero power gains over a regular LS1/LS6 block.

How do the 6.0L heads differ from the LS6 heads?

They have bigger combustion chambers, but still have the good port design.
