Default Why shouldn't I go with a brand new GM head gasket?

I am doing the heads/cam swap listed below in my sig this May and plan on just getting all GM gaskets. Is there a reason I shouldnt use a GM head gasket. Are the aftermarket ones like FelPro really that much better?

With your mods you'll be fine with the GM gasket's thats what I'm running with the Absolute stage 2 heads and B1.

GM head gaskets are the prefered gasket for stock displacment engines. Thay are a very good gasket.

Cool...that is good news.

So I assume you really dont need to be concerned with aftermarket gaskets til you run FI, Nos, or larger than 346 ci?

Thanks for the info guys. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

What gaskets would you use for a NOS application? I'm thinking about getting it down the road, but it wouldn't be anything big. Maybe a 100-125 shot.

I run Fel Pro stock replacement gaskets because they are much easier clean up when heads come off. Next time around i will run FelPro race gaskets but i think if both work why not use gasket that doesnt disintegrate on removal?
