I am looking for suggestions on cam specs on how to do a cam only set up on my car, still have it drivable for daily use, and have it make 400 rwhp and 400 rwtq. Right now the car has full exhaust TSP 1 7/8" with a cutout, under drive pulley, full intake with LS6 intake, stall, gear, AIR and EGR gone, and full bolt ons. I am trying to ding the best set up that will be awesome to drive and livable.

The 400rwhp mark is pretty easy, but I doubt you can get torque that high. It looks like you have an auto, so having a drivable cam only car is a bit harder to do. Don't worry too much about peak HP numbers. Just find a cam and stall that work well together.

+1 with what he said. Being an auto the better heads you have the more driveable the car will be and help you meet that 400rwhp&rwtq Auto's a not dyno queens compared to M6's so I think your going to need so heads also or if not least get your's milled to get that compression up a little bit.

cam choice doesn't always determine "streetable"
tuner knowledge DOES more often than not.
small cam + bad tuner = crap
big cam + great tuner = street friendly
cam only for an auto, i would start with researching the tsp 228r, and would be worth asking around how a cam like the "el torro" would work with an auto.

Made a few other posts here, but I've got the Thunder Racing "reverse split" 230/224 111LSA cam. It made the power you want. In fact, the dyno is probably a little low, as I ran out of injectors at 5500rpm.
Tuning will make this as driveable as you want.

That is the best advice you are going to get specially with an A4. I have a C5 w/ an A4 my first H/C combo on my LS1 was a custom specked cam (232/238) and I have another one bigger (235/241), and 112 lsa. My tuner is top notch and while it has a beautiful lope it is as street able as any cam out there. The other thing that is going to help you out is a stall. That makes a big difference when tuning the car, it helps the tuner a lot having a stall he can work with that is specked to your cam also.

Yeah, I know about the tuner, I am going to have G-force performance in Houston tune the car, I just didn't know if i needed to look at cams in the 228-235 range or if i needed to look at other specs.

What all do you have done to your car; is it A4 or M6

It's an M6. it also has a lightweight flywheel.
But, I don't think that those things will steal 15rwhp/rwtq. Plus, like I said, I think that my lack of sufficient injectors are lowering my numbers already. Once I get new injectors, we'll see where it lands.

what stall speed is your converter? what gears? my "old" car (just sold it last night) had a custom 230/236 .612/.607 114 LSA camshaft that drove GREAT and had really strong top end pull. i could go as low as 38 MPH in overdrive and not surge or buck, although a great tuner helped that of course.

I would go with a cam in the 230 range...PM Predator Z and see what he says, he spec'd me a custom grind cam that I am installing this weekend.
My goal too was 400RWTQ, might be harded to do in an A4 with stock heads, but he'll get you damn near close with his Reverse Split cam's he spec's out.

i would loook at 230's or 240's if that is your goal, paired with a great tuner. My info is in sig a little under where your goals are but that's LS1 intake and 1 3/4 headers. I am going to put 1 7/8's and my LS6 intake on soon which will hopefully take me past 400. Gooodluck.

I have 3200 stall speed converter with 3.73 gears. Im leaning heavily toward the TSP torquer v2 or specing out a custom cam with specs close to it. Main goal is to have a good torque band and power band that will pull hard in the mid rpms (2000-6200)
