Default 380CI iron motor completed. pics inside.

after all the parts tradeing and sidejobs i finally completed it with only $500 out of my pocket. should hold up to 900HP chemically asparated but will be around 350HP+ for now until i can afford some heads and N2O. i have kept it a secrect to long and it had to come out sooner or later. all work and blueprinting was done by myself. the only thing i did not do is bore the block and turn the crank. new times coming soon.

Geocities doesn't allow hot linking, I uploaded them for you, should be working now.

350 hp? i think you are underestimating there if it has a cam.

tell us more about your setup? offset ground crank? .030 overbore?

kyle, i am not sure on the shot just yet. i am trying to get money for a DP but right now my 100 dry will have to do. the cam is a XER grind 236/238 on 114. as for the 10 bolt, i expect it to last 2 runs with the M6. i was expecting it to blow at the thunder shootout but it didnt. hopfully i can afford to put in the TH400 so it will last a bit longer. a 12bolt is going to be the hardest thing for me to buy since i have to save the money at one time. it took me like 8 months just to get these parts seperatly one at a time.

Nick, i might be underestimating, but i am going to port my own heads with a home made flow bench so i am not expecting hugh numbers just yet. it is a .040 bore with a 3.71 stroke on a 2" rod journal. 11to1 compression. 5.3L heads

Well that all Bore better be spraying cause i came into some more money so now the 383 will be blown and on juice............. Just playing. Shooting to be done by SBSO
Same here steve. The 12 bolt is next on the list after the motor is done. Then a TH400. I want to run low 10's a few times on the 4l60e and then switch it out. Who did you get he crank from?? Good work man. I think your underestimating it with 350HP also. I have to see it before i go home for X-mas.

Lets see last time i looked in my garage i saw a blown motor...... yep still there. Pulling hard a Z28 w/ a 150 shot and then a blown head gasket..... yep that .22 sure is big. Running like that running mid 11's on three cracked ringlands...... big differences between these power adders..... wont need much once the 12 bolt goes in. Alot harder to launch on my side of the house..... Well see soon. Then its put your money where your mouth is.

Does the vid show my blown head gasket at the 1/8 mile???? I bet it does. I have vids of the car running what i know it ran on drag radials....... Do you really think a car keeps pulling after a head gasket is blown??? I know what reality is and at least i know how to spell it. Im done taking over Steves thread about stupid ****..... I know what it ran and what it will run.
Awsome job Steve.

Engine looks good!

Did you have it sonic tested?

I tested two 6.0 blocks and found them to be pretty thin so I'm only going .010 over.

Do you have similar sonic results?

What do all those numbers mean?

I'm planning on getting my 6.0l block sonic tested and I want to know before hand.

Thats the thickness of the cylinder walls. For example on mine, there's one place that was .100. If you bore it out .040 that means it will to .080 thick in that spot which is a little thin. .060 would be way too much for either block.
