And I know MTI has theirs in stock and will ship that day. Also email jayson @ jaysonmti@aol.com and ask him to knock off a few pennies or not charge for shipping....I'm sure he will...he's awsome to work with...I walked into the shop with 350 bux in my pocket...heard the x1 on a car w/the same heads I had and saw the dyno...immediatly wanted one...he handed me it and said gimme the 350 and go have fun....that's customer service!!!!!

Watch out for springs...you truly need the dual springs to run the XE-R lobes and lift the X1 has.....

918's are fine for the X1.....A buddy of mine has been running the X1 for 20K miles on his non-blue stripe 918's..

Jayson can recommend the springs he uses on his heads, they're a single spring I believe but have more seat pressure than 918's..

You can go single spring cams..but honestly...the extra spring in the duals help with just a lil insurance that my piston and valve won't meet.

Thunder's TR230 costs $429.99. I don't know where you got the $459 from. These cams are in stock, ready to ship.

As for the performance between the two cams, I feel there would be very little difference between the two.

For only 3 to 5 HP between the cams, I would ( hey I did ) go with the TR230 due to spring life.
And yes many people go with a single spring, but I will be going with the New Patroit Dual spring with Tit ret for 295.00 , heck that is cheaper in price than the 918s and you get peace of mind.

I'd stay away from the cheap stuff IMHO is...I went with Rev Duals that required machining and are good to above .650+ lift...the manleys are a direct drop in and will give u POM (piece of mind).......one bad spring = major engine damage!!!

Just splurge a few extra hundrd and get the Revs (Very quiet honestly) or get the drop in dual Manleys MTI sells. going close to .600 lift and the XE-R lobes need badass springs...period.

as everyone has stated, the performance gain would be minimal on either cam. Personally, I would take the one that has less wear and tear on the valvetrain. Why kill your springs for no reason?
I mean hell, if you are gonna get to the 1320 in the same time, why be forced to upgrade valvetrain adn replace it sooner? TR230 seems to be the only logical choice.

Im getting the PP 5.3s and they come with good springs so Iam not to worried about the extra lift. Hey Scotty what going on Big Daddy? Make me a good deal and I might take it. Are you going to the car show saturday?

cause driveing to the supermarket or doing the 1320 ur cam still opens the valve to the max lift bro....that's my point.

I have the X1 on 112 and the sound is sweet. I have a good rumble with mine. Just had to lower my idle alittle more. I run mid 10`s with spray with a 3850lb race weight and a 1.65 60ft. If I get my 60`s down maybe better. I love it!

Do you have to flycut on either of these two cams?

did I miss something? What's your point- bro?

I understand the the idea of cam events. As a matter of fact, that was MY point. Both cams seem to perform the same, yet the X1 has more lift and is harder on valvetrain. So- you agree with me and you are saying that you should have gotten the TR230? or what, bro?

On stock heads, no there is plenty of room. I on a decked head, I wouldn't go any farther than .020 to be safe. A few people have touched valves running .030 off and the X1.

OK- well why not just keep everything simple and get the TR230? The one that DOESN'T require the "good" springs to perform properly and be dependable. Does that make sense now?

Oh and it's- "Genius"
