Default 99 Z-28 175,000 miles! How much $?

I've found a 99 Camaro Z-28 6 speed with 175,000 miles I can get it for $4000 with a brand new set of SS wheels and brand new tires. Issuses clear coat peeling in some areas. And the reverse and first synchros going out. Leather driver seat needs repair.

Too many miles or what do you guys think? Help ASAP is needed!

P.s. all it has as far as mods is a magnaflow catback and K&N filter and he's owned it since 02.

Depends on your plans with it. That's a lot of miles! If you intend to do a big build with it I'd say it sounds like a decent canvas to start with, but that tranny isn't exactly reliable to DD.

Yeah I just really want it for a weekend car for now and build later but the miles scare me a little.

Eh......not sure if I would pay that much if it has trans issues as well as clear peeling. I'd talk him down a little more if you can. As far as that LS1 lasting, I have 249K miles on mine and it's still going strong. That's granted he hasn't been beating on it. I bought mine from an older lady.

I'd take it an have it looked over at a local GM dealer and compression tested. Quite a few miles but then again there's no certain life-span on a motor! I feel honestly it's worth less than $4000, but that's just me. Depends on condition

2.5k tops You will spend over 1k to fix the trans mission and over 1k to have it painted. It has alot of miles I would do it for 2.5k top
