Default Callies 5140 forged steel stroker cranks

Has anyone been using these? Some website said their max recommended hp is 575, however I would be looking for 700-800rwhp, 4" stroke and forced induction. We all know Callies products are excellent stuff, great quality. But since cast iron stock cranks people recommend for 700rwhp, wouldn't the forged Callies 5140 crank be able to take more than the stock crankshafts? Right now I'm trying to decide between it, the Callies Compstar for the extra couple of hundred bucks, and the K1 4340 crankshaft. I don't have an unlimited amount to spend on this build, so keeping that in mind.

edit, found from a place that calls themselves **** (not sure if I can post website link) ****...

(begin quote...)
* 4340 A nickel-chrome-moly steel, this alloy is used to make premium cranks.4340 has good tensile strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance. Modified 4340 alloys with vanadium and more silicon can make this already good alloy even tougher and more fatigue-resistant. The main drawback is cost.

* 5140 This chromium alloy increases tensile strength, hardness, toughness, and wear-resistance over carbon steel. It has the same basic elements of 4340 and is made with the same process but is more affordable.

I'd go with the Compstar 4340 because it's a proven winner with a great price. If you can afford a Callies Dragon Slayer, that would be even better.

Can't afford the Dragonslayer or else I'd be considering it with the 4340 Compstar.

I was going to use the cast iron stock crank @ 700rwhp but wouldn't the forged 5140 Callies steel crank be much better, especially a more affordable way to achieve 403 displacement? Some guys say the 4340 is overkill for 700rwhp... granted, it's better safe than sorry, but would I really be sorry for using the Callies 5140 crank for 700rwhp? Had a sponsor pm me stating they were hitting 800rwhp through a m6 on this 5140 crank with no problems.

Candlelit,

You'd be fine with all three cranks but the 4340 is the best. If you were going to say double what you were doing like 1400 HP I would only use the 4340 though.

What about for 900 rwhp though, would the C-series cope?

Should be but a 9000 rpm 700 hp NA is way different than say a 7500 rpm 700 hp.
