with a M6 you definetly want to go with a bigger cam. something in the range 23X 23X 595 600 you will love the power with this kind of a cam. I run a 231 237 589 595 112 lsa with lt,ls6 intake, crank pulley made 402rwhp 396rwtq on the dyno and pulls really hard up over 4500rpm 224 is a nice cam for A4 guys with a small stall

There's nothing wrong with the 224 cam. It's a proven cam and one you cant go wrong with. I've seen a buddy of mine go 11.6X's with that cam only in a M6. That cam makes good power all around which is nice in a DD. There are bigger cams that will do the same, but most of the bigger cams make their power high up in the rpm's. This is a great starter cam no doubt. You'll eventually go bigger as most do, but for now that cam is a good one to have. Just for reference I run the Vengeance VRX4 which is a 228/230 .588/.592 on a 112lsa. It makes good useable power all over also. Probably the last cam I'll buy til I build my 383.

The car put down over 400/400 to the rears and was a great daily driver cam.
Good Luck.

On my last car (01 Z28) I had the TR 224 cam in it and it ran GREAT. The car went 11.6 @ 119 in an A4 car, 3,600 stall, 3:89 gears, mid length headers. It would have ran better but it had a 78mm intake on it.
The car put down over 400/400 to the rears and was a great daily driver cam.
Good Luck.

As stated you will notice a difference because it is a proven cam but you will want bigger later. My first cam was a 224/230 XER from comp and ran great but I always felt like I should have just went ahead with a bigger cam because with a 6 speed it drives the same...i just got the Vengeance Racing X5 cam. Good luck with it though, its better than stock for sure!

I ran the TR224 as the first cam in my 383 block. Loved it, great power and very stealthy.
Like already said tho, we always seem to want more and bigger, esp since I was running 383 cubes.
I still run what is concidered a mild cam for a 383 block, 234/238. But I like it just the way it is right now.

I thought my 224 cam loped pretty good when I had an SLP Loudmouth exhaust. The Hooker CB I now have has really tamed the exhaust note.
As far as noticing the difference, it was an amazing difference to me. It was an awesome difference when I went from stock cam to the 224/112, and a huge difference when I added the heads and longtubes a couple years later. Also, even though I didn't add hp obviously, the 4.11 gears made a huge difference too.
